Bring your dinner tray to the Zapata lounge for a screening of the film adaptation of Zoot Suit, the play. Starring Edward James Olmos, Daniel Valdez, and Tony Plana; written and directed by Luis Valdez.

An intimate conversation with Mr. Valdez about his life and work from the early days in the fields with Cesar Chavez to Zoot Suit on Broadway to successes and challenges in Hollywood.

Faculty Talk: Professor Al Camarillo, “People of Color in America on the Eve of the Zoot Suit Era”
Tuesday, Feb. 19, 6 p.m., Casa Zapata Lounge
Students will hear from Prof. Camarillo and discuss the challenges and successes the 1940s posed for minorities in the United States.

Hairstyle and Fashion of the Zoot Suit Era Workshop
Thursday, Feb. 21, 7:00 p.m., Casa Zapata Lounge Get yourself ready for Saturday’s Pachanga as actress and performer VIVIS shows us the fashions of the Zoot Suit Era.

Zoot Suit, The Play
Friday, Feb. 22, 7:00 p.m., Kresge Auditorium Stanford students take the stage and perform an original adaptation of the Luis Valdez play. Adapted and directed by Andrea Ayala '09 and Edgardo Cervano-Soto '11.

Dance Workshop
Saturday, Feb. 23, 9:00 p.m., Stern Dining, Casa Zapata side Partake in this quick dance lesson of the 1940s style led by Veronica Ramirez ’07, Andrea Solis ’07, and Pablo Pozo ‘07.

Zoot Suit Pachanga 2008
Saturday, Feb. 23, 10:00 p.m., Stern Dining, Casa Zapata side Celebrate the culmination of Zoot Suit Week 2008 at our annual Pachanga, featuring Dr. Loco's Rockin’ Jalapeno Band. Followed by DJ E.
